Iconography Class

AMES, IA- At Holy Transfiguration Mission, ​9 people participated in a beginning icon workshop offered by Holy Transfiguration in Ames, Iowa.  Taught by Iconographer and parish priest V. Rev. Theophan Mackey, the students were introduced to the basics of creating icons within the Prosopon school of iconography.  They spent four and a half very full and intensive days, and each created their icon of Archangel Michael.  Five of the students were from Holy Transfiguration, with the other four from other parishes in Central Iowa.
