RIVES JUNCTION, MI  [HOLY DORMITION MONASTERY] – 15 August 2026 - His Eminence Archbishop Alexander, under the invitation of Archbishop Nathaniel (ROEA)  presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of Holy Dormition for their patronal feast. This women’s monastery is part of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate. Archbishop Alexander offered words about the feast.

For the annual pilgrimage to the monastery hundreds of faithful Orthodox Christians and seekers gathered together for worship. The Akathist and hours were held in the church then a procession was made to the outdoor pavilion where the Divine Liturgy was celebrated. Following the Liturgy a picnic fellowship was held while many children played in the monastery’s children’s garden. In the afternoon Holy Unction was held followed by Vespers. 

Holy Dormition Monastery is the final resting place of Archimandrite Roman Braga, who was brought to the Holy Synod for Glorification last year. Many faithful spent time at Fr. Roman’s grave in prayer. Holy Fr. Roman of the Great Lakes, pray for us!

TOLEDO, OH [BDOCA] – 11 August 2026 - In a communique from Fr. Arkady (Migunov), Chancellor of the Bulgarian Diocese, OCA, the 63rd Annual Diocesan Conference and Assembly has been announced.

The Diocese will hold its 63rd Annual Conference at St. Elizabeth the New Martyr Mission in Walbridge, OH on October 9-11, 2026. The conference will include gathering for Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, Memorial Service, Business Sessions, Vespers and several Fellowship Opportunities.

Parish Rectors were asked to submit their annual parish reports by the Feast of Dormition and to submit their delegate forms. 

A tentative conference schedule and hotel information was given and posted to the Diocesan Website.
